The Sean Taylor Foundation: Inaugural Celebrity Softball Game

Players & celebrities stepped up to the plate for at-risk youth

The Sean Taylor Foundation hosted their inaugural event on March 6th at St. Thomas University. The festivities kicked off at 3pm with a Home Run Derby that turned out to be a little harder then the players thought it would be! In the end the derby was won by J.J. Newman formerly of the NY Mets with the Raven’s Ed Reed coming in a close second.

The softball game kicked off at 4pm and proved to be a tight competition! The foundation would like to congratulate their 1st ever MVP of  their celebrity softball game Anita Marks! Anita was unstoppable all game and was the catalyst for the white teams comeback and eventual win over the black team lead by Jevon Kearse and the Sports Brothers.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to the Marlins Manatees for being our celebrity umpires as well as everyone that came out to support the Sean Taylor Foundation’s first ever celebrity softball event. It was a great success with a great time being had by all! Check out some of the pictures on our photos page! See you all next year!!
